Poland is the 9th largest European country, which is located in the middle and north of Europe and for ages it has been the border between the East and West. Poland has quite a lot of neighbors: Germany to the West, Czech Republic and Slovakia to the South, Ukraine, Belarus, and Lithuania in the East and Russia to the Northeast. The Baltic Sea also creates marine borders with Denmark and Sweden. Warszaw is the capital city.
Poland is one from 28 members of the Europe Union and also member of the NATO. It has its own currency Polish zloty.

Why to study in Poland?

The Polish higher education system is well developed. The quality of the education provided is monitored and regularly evaluated.
Poland holds fourth place in Europe (after the United Kingdom, Germany and France) in terms of the number of people enrolled in higher education. The total student population at over 400 university level schools is almost 1,5 million. Each year almost half a million young people begin their education at universities and colleges. Most schools offer courses in foreign languages.

Should you expect a significant language barrier?

Polish is the official language of Poland and the native language of Poles.
But more than 50% Poles declared to speak English. German language came third and other commonly spoken foreign language includes French, Italian and Spanish.
